The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation building has opened

October 17, 2016: The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation building has opened. The Foundation is dedicated to philanthropy and community service in the areas of children’s health, education, support for military veterans and their families, the arts, and Lyme disease research. The design of their new headquarters building was a collaborative effort between Neil Hauck Architects and Ryan Salvatore Design. AIA Connecticut has announced that Rob Metzgar, of Neil Hauck Architects, is the recipient of an Honor Award in the 2016 Drawing Award program

September 16, 2016: AIA Connecticut has announced that Rob Metzgar, of Neil Hauck Architects, is the recipient of an Honor Award in the 2016 Drawing Award program. The entry was a digital elevation that was parsed into layers of depth, output to a laser cutter, and then reassembled as a series of planes offset to show their relative depth. The Z-axis was scaled independently to 1/13th that of the X and Y axes, compressing the depth. The low relief occupies an ambiguous area between digital and analog at the intersection of drawing and model. To view the winning entry, please click here.

Neil Hauck Architects has received the 2015 atHome magazine A-List Award for best “Pool House”

September 10, 2015: Neil Hauck Architects has received the 2015 atHome magazine A-List Award for best “Pool House”. In addition, the awards jury selected a second project as one of three finalists in the category “Traditional Architecture: Less Than 7,000 Square Foot”. In the six-year history of the atHome A-List Awards program, Neil Hauck Architects has won four awards in four different categories, and has had projects selected as finalists five times.

May 4, 2015: AIA Connecticut has announced that Neil Hauck Architects is the recipient of a 2015 Alice Washburn Award for the “Ponus Ridge Pool House”. The Alice Washburn Awards program recognizes excellence in the design of houses and residential accessory buildings. The Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain will publish an article on the reconstruction of Thomas Tresham’s “Hawkfield Lodge” in ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY

January 14, 2015: The Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain will publish an article on the reconstruction of Thomas Tresham’s “Hawkfield Lodge” in ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY (volume 58: 2015), the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain. Neil Hauck, AIA, collaborated with the author, Kristin Fairey, PhD, on the design of the reconstruction, which was based in large part on daily entries in the building logs of George Levens, the project superintendent, between 1596 and 1597.
